Automated Group Registration (Based on Form Responses)

Using auto-register to populate small groups based on form questions in Churchteams

Oftentimes, registration responses indicate that a person needs to be transferred into another group based on the answer they chose from a drop down menu. Automated group registration will automatically copy the person to another group based on their response to a registration attribute.

Bonus Benefits: When someone chooses a registration response that auto-registers them into another group, all the functionality of registration settings applies to this registration as well. This includes:

The leader of the new group can be automatically notified that someone has been added to their group.
A customized email for registering for this new group can be sent to them.
Registration attributes from the original group are copied to the new group.

Note: Payment options and other customized form fields that you may have in the "copy to" group will not apply to the automated registration.

How to set up Automated Group Registration.

Create the registration group and the auto-register groups.
- Overview Ex: Registration Group is Digital Connection Card. Add or create a registration attribute, such as the question, "What ministry area interests you?" The drop down menu includes 4 choices: Children's Ministry, Student Ministry, Life Group Leadership, and Hospitality. A volunteer group is created for each of these choices (these are the "auto register for" groups).
  If a registrant selects an interest in Children's Ministry, they will then be auto-registered into (copied into) the volunteer group for Ministry Connection Children and that leader notified to follow up. The registrant stays in the original group they registered into, but is also added into the auto-register group.
In the registration group go to Registration, then Settings.
Select the option to Customize Registration Attributes.
When you create the attribute responses, you will see the option to link the response to another group.

Auto Register

As the person registers, they are aware of the secondary registrations, by only choosing their answers to questions asked. The form is not complicated yet the software is doing a great deal of organization for ministry leaders behind the scenes.

Auto registration is a great tool for VBS registrations. Adding an age, date of birth, or grade completed attribute could be used to auto-register children into the classes you set up.
