How to transition donors from your previous giving system to Churchteams.

Converting Existing Recurrent Contributions

1. Launch your previous online giving software to run a report of scheduled or recurring donors.
2. Contact existing recurrent donors.
   • Let them know about the change to Churchteams (suggested wording below)
   • Ask them to go online, establish recurrent giving in your new online giving software, and provide them with a link for convenience.
   • Provide them with a link to your old system and ask them to cancel their scheduled contribution in your previous system, letting them know those will no longer be directed to your bank account after a specific date unless you cancel those transactions from within the software through admin access.
3. Once all recurrent contributions have been established in Churchteams and deleted from your old software, contact your old provider and close the account.

Example Email to existing recurrent donors:

Thank you for your continued support of (church name). To be better
stewards of your contributions, we have changed our online and scheduled giving
tool. Our old system will be turned off on _______, and your scheduled
contributions will stop. To facilitate this change without disrupting your
support, we ask you to consider the following steps;

• Use the link on our website (or provide them the link directly), click online giving, and
  set up your scheduled contribution. 
• Use this link to cancel your scheduled contribution in our old system and contact our office by replying to this email or calling us at _________ to let us know this has been completed, or
  
  • We will delete your scheduled giving in our old system to ensure you are
    not billed through both systems.

Example Webpage Post / Church Bulletin Insert:

To be good stewards of your contribution, we have recently moved to Churchteams Online Giving. This is a new software system for our church, which offers a great way to give online. Go to our church website to create an account and give to what the Lord is doing here at ___________.

You can even set up scheduled recurring contributions online. If you have a transaction set up under the old system, please log in and cancel that transaction after setting up your new one with Churchteams.

How to Text to Give (shareable video for your members)

Once members have texted any amount for the first time, they will receive a link via email to verify their mobile phone number.  After the mobile phone number has been verified, texting to give is as simple as texting an amount (Ex: 20) to your church's Text-to-Church number. 

Members can also text LOGIN to set up an online account and view giving history.
