How do we create and support events that connect people to small groups, ministry teams, mission opportunities, or vendors / suppliers?

Use event registration to sign people up.  Then create a group for each group, team, opportunity, or vendor.  Use MMS to communicate and then keywords to sign up.

Event Registrations with Text-to-Church provide a powerful solution for events like Group Links where you want to connect people to small groups, Ministry Fairs to connect people to serving teams, Mission Fairs to connect people to mission teams, or General Events with vendors who want to capture information from people they talk to.
  1. Use a normal event registration setup process to link, embed, text or however you want to promote as usual.  Create a keyword to identify them.
  2. If you haven't already, create a group  for each small group, serving opportunity, or event vendor.  This will be their "pool" of people to follow up with.
  3. Create and display the keyword for that group, team, or vendor on the table or display.
  4. Just before the event starts, send out a nice MMS text to expected attendees with reminders, announcements, or pictures.  Include text like:  Each group (team, vendor) has a keyword, simply text that keyword back to this number to join (learn more, etc.).
  5.  Midway through or at the end of the event, text attendees a "Group (team, vendor) interest" registration for a second chance to connect.  Give it a multiple choice dropdown that includes ALL groups, teams, orvendors.  Set up that registration to auto-register people from this list directly to the group, team, or vendor's pool.
  6. The Group, Team or Vendor has leader access to their group (Group Role = leader) by texting ME to the same number.  On this page give them access to enter Notes as well as communication options 
  7. If necessary export group member information to the leader or vendor.  Group and Team leaders will use the group through the App on an ongoing basis.
