How to export data from Shelby

NOTE: There are a number of different Shelby versions and products and so several sets of instructions are shown below.

Shelby (legacy version)

Begin in Selections and Listings

  1. Create a new report
  2. Name it whatever you like
  3. Give it whatever criteria you need (Such as members, and active) in the left hand column
  4. On the right column, create a ‘formatted’ report by double clicking ‘formatted’
  5. In the left hand column highlight ‘address types’ and move it to the right hand column
  6. In the left hand column highlight ‘email account’ and move it to the right hand column
  7. In the left hand column highlight ‘phone number types’ and move it to the right hand column
  8. Check ‘print to file’ and ‘include fieldnames in first record’ on the bottom left
  9. Designate a path where you wish the document to be saved where it says ‘field name’ by clicking on the ‘…’
  10. On the right hand side towards the bottom make sure ‘print home address on first line’ is marked
  11. Press ‘ok’
  12. It will then bring up a box that asks you to designate which address to use. Check ‘print main/home address’
  13. Press ‘ok’
  14. It will then bring up a box that asks you to designate which phone number to use. Check ‘print main/home’
  15. If you want to use the Salutation as the first name instead of the First Middle field check the “Use salutation as first name” box at the bottom of the formatting instructions page under “print home address”
  16. Make sure to save the report before closing
  17. Run the report
  18. It will then tell you that the report has been completed
  19. Send the file to data@churchteams.com and we will review it and load it for you or ask any questions needed to clarify how it should be loaded.

ShelbyNEXT

  1. Log in to Shelby
  2. Select People (on the Left)
  3. Click list from People dropdown.
  4. Check box next to first name to select all individuals.
  5. Click the Gear to the right and select Export People to CSV
  6. Select “Full” under field options
  7. Click export
