How to use barcode scanner with check-in

Churchteams does have the ability to use barcode scanners. Essentially the scanner is just a data entry accessory that you plug into your computer through the USB like you would a keyboard.

In Churchteams, you need to make sure that you have a custom member attribute (Members > Settings > Member Attributes) called something like quick check or barcode number. This is the field in which you will scan the number on your key tags (or scan in the number from another key tag they may have). In the Check-in view (Check-in > Views/Settings), go to option E1 and select then save this member attribute.

You can mass import the barcodes from a CSV file using the import feature found under Members > Settings > Import-load. You will follow the instructions for doing an "Update records only."
