Churchteams Merging Tool Logic (What Information will be kept)
How our Merging Tools Works
Merging people combines information from both records into the record that you merge the information INTO (the “TO” record). An easy way to remember this is that you want the RIGHT record (or the one with the most correct info) on the RIGHT side.
To merge duplicate records, go to People > Person > Merge. To know more about HOW to use our different merging options, click here.
Information that will be added to the “TO” record from the “FROM” record includes:
- Emails
- Contributions
- Current & Past Group History
- Notes
- Volunteer Schedules
- Workflow Involvement
Information that will be overwritten by the “TO” record and therefore lost from the “FROM” record includes:
- Address
- Mobile Phone
- Home Phone
- Work Phone
- Gender
- Family Role
- Church Member Type
- Date of Birth
- Date Added
- Last Updated
***The exception to the above rule is, if the attribute is currently blank in the “TO” record, but there is data in the “FROM” record, this information will be brought over in the merge.
