Troubleshooting using your own email client as the email editor for Churchteams.
There are a couple of reasons that you could be encountering this error:
1) You do not have your email (Gmail, Outlook, or whatever you use as your Email client) properly set up as your default email client on your computer.
2) The email exceeds the browser based limits.
Start by addressing the first issue - ensuring that your default email client is properly set up on your computer - as this is likely the cause of the error.
To set Gmail or Google Chrome as your default email service, we recommend this help solution directly from Google Chrome.
To set up Outlook at your default email service, we recommend this help solution directly from Microsoft.
If you have properly set up your default email client and are still getting and nothing is happening, you could be exceeding the browser based limits. There are limits to the number and size of emails that work with "Email via your email" option. If it's too large the browser typically does nothing. The limit varies by browser can also affected by the length of the emails.
For an email with a large volume of recipients, we recommend you first choose the send Via Churchteams option, then select and copy the email recipient address list. Next, go to your own email and create a new email and paste the email addresses into the TO or BCC field in your email if you really do want it to come from your own email.
Please note that when sending via Churchteams you can enter your own email address as the Reply To email and you will get responses but the email is not actually sent from your own email in that case so you wouldn't see it in your Sent folder etc.
