How to use spiritual gifts and reports to help you recruit and place volunteers.

Use a spiritual gift assessment or just a list with definitions. Create a list or a group of people to contact about volunteering.

Collecting Spiritual Gifts Attributes

If you have an assessment that you want to use, hand out the assessment or provide a link to it as part of your instructions to potential volunteers.  Have them enter this information into the registration form (group) that you have created for those Interested in Volunteering.

Our friends at I to We have provided this list of gift definitions, characteristics and liabilities that you can use for free.  They have even given our clients permission to copy and edit the content.  You can do that in Churchteams by going to Communicate >  Content Pages > and paste it into a new Landing Page.

Using Reports to Find Volunteers

We recommend creating a group like "Potential Volunteers" to add the people you filter to.  But, you can also let the report simply create a list.  In fact creating a list first is a good way to check the validity of your filters.

Decide what combination of group involvement and member attributes you want to use to filter potential volunteers.  For example:

  • Groups > People not involved > Ministry: Worship
  • Members > Household role: Adult + Church Member Type: Members.

Then create the Report > New > Members > Add to Group and select your potential volunteer group.

Filter this report by the factors you decided above.

ReportfiltervolsRun this report to populate a group of potential volunteers to contact.
