Member and Staff access to the Churchteams Member App

Downloading the Churchteams Member App and Staff Access

The Churchteams Member App is a Progressive Web App, so it is not one that you will purchase or download through the App or Google Play store.

The beauty of a progressive web app is that people install the app natively from within the app itself.  To do that, though, they'll start with a link to the app itself.

In your public communication about it, we recommend telling people that they will see it when they respond to a volunteer request or log in as a donor.  But you can also email adult members and regular attendees (or whomever you decide) an invitation to install the App.  We also recommend that you note to your church-goers that the login credentials are the same email and password a person used when they set up their online giving account.  If someone does not have an online giving account, they can click "Forgot Password" on the login page and follow the instructions in the email that will be sent to them.

Below are the four ways for people to access the App and the option to install it, along with information about the added benefit of staff access. Once you have pushed out an invitation to access the App,  you may this Installation & Overview Video helpful.

Staff Access included in the Member App

  1. Respond to an email (individual or mass group) pushed out by staff.

This is a staff-initiated approach of sending an email asking the recipient(s) to update their information and/or access the Member App. You can send out the invite in mass, through a group, or to a specific individual.

Inviting people through Mass Email (Reports)
    1. Go to Reports > New > Communication > Email Request for Updated Information and choose the option to "Access Member App."
    2. Then, filter by those you want to invite to have access to the App.
    3. Run the report.
    4. Create the email template with the merge tag in the greeting and the merge tag in the content.  (You must include both of these merge tags.)
    5. Save this email as a template for future use.
    6. Send or schedule the email.

Inviting people through Groups
    1. Go to the Group you want to invite.
    2. Click the blue Communicate button, then choose "Evite to update info/member app" and Confirm.GroupAppInvite
    3. Edit the Email Template as you wish, but be sure to leave the and the tags in the text.

    Inviting an Individual:
      1. Go to the Member's Information Page
      2. Click the button/dropdown menu to Invite to Update, then "Info / Member App."

      3. Edit the Email Template as you wish, but be sure to leave the and the tags in the text.
    1. Texting "ME" to your Text-to-Church number.

Anyone who is already in your database can simply text "ME" to your Text-to-Church number.  A link is sent back to your phone to access (and optionally install) the App.  Once at the login page, the person should use the same email address they use to log into their online giving account. *This access point will not work for people not already in the database.
    2. Responding to a volunteer invitation or reminder.

Whenever you create a volunteer schedule and send out invitations, volunteers will see the Install App button at the top of the page.  Having the App installed allows for quick access to their serving schedule.
    3. Online giving login.

When a donor clicks the option to log in to their online giving, they can select the "Manage" option, then "Activity" to get to and install the Member App.

If you have trouble saving your login credentials in the app, refer to these instructions for auto-filling and/or saving passwords in your phone's browser.

Staff Access with the Member App

Any person with a staff login (staff and other key leaders with a User Account) will have access to their own Member page along with additional access to the staff features.  You must use your unique staff login credentials.

    Combined Member/Staff Access

Using your staff credentials logs you into both the Member App and mobile-friendly Staff access.

Only those who log in with their staff credentials will see the staff search bar and menu at the top of the Member App screen. This is a convenient way for staff to have access to these important features while also being able to manage their member information.

The down arrow located in the top right corner will expand the mobile-friendly staff menu.

Use this menu to take you to any other mobile-friendly staff feature or to go back to the Member App.
